Carmen and Andrew were head over heels for their Martha’s Vineyard venue, and they wanted their guests to love the destination just as much as they did. To express the elegance of Martha’s Vineyard, we based the entire invitation design around the ferries that connect the Vineyard to the big cities of the East Coast. Purple and navy were chosen as the color scheme to bring an old-fashioned, nautical feel to all of Carmen and Andrew’s paper goods.
Guests first received a save the date card replicating a vintage ferry ticket – right down to the hole punched date of the event! The formal invitation that followed didn’t use traditional printing methods, instead they were created with a stamp in order to both save costs and add an old-fashioned quality to the package. In addition to the invitation, guests received a hand-drawn map of the island, which provided directions and accommodations, and an RSVP card mimicking the ferry ticket design. All of these elements were tied together with navy and white baker’s twine for a finishing nautical touch.
